Lesson Information

Annika has experience teaching violin/viola and piano lessons to students as young as 3 through age 80 — it’s never too late to start!

Annika uses a variety of teaching methods and curriculum to meet the needs and musical interests of each student.

Lessons are typically 30 minutes in length. If you would like a longer weekly lesson, contact Annika for pricing information.

In-person lessons are strongly encouraged for beginning string players. Proper posture and technique is very difficult to achieve virtually as well as tuning the instrument.

Virtual lessons are available via Zoom

Schedule

Lessons will follow the ISD 623 and ISD 621 school year calendars. Fall lessons for the 2024-25 school year begin the week of September 16. Make-up lessons will be arranged as needed and encouraged to be held virtually.

Performances

Students will have the opportunity to perform for two regular events each year, with other optional opportunities that become available during the year. The annual events are a holiday party for students to prepare and perform a piece for their peers, and a Spring Recital to prepare and perform for family and friends. Performance dates for 2024-25 are December 14 and May 18.

Missed Lesson Policy

I try my best to accommodate schedules. In the case of illness, please notify Annika as soon as possible.

Please keep your child home from lessons to avoid spreading it to others, including any of these symptoms:

Fever (100.4F or higher), Cough, Loss of sense of taste or smell, Shortness of breath, Fatigue, Headache, Muscle or body aches, Sore Throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, and Diarrhea

If the student is ill and wishes to keep the lesson as planned, it must be virtual only.

A 24-hour notice is required for non-emergency absences to receive a virtual make-up lesson. No shows or cancellations without 24-hour notices do not receive a make-up lesson.

If Annika is ill, she will let you know rescheduling options as soon as possible.

Our home studio is dog friendly as we have a resident studio mascot Shiba Inu named Viva (named after Vivaldi, of course)!
